Description

Surnames or last name histories are all about the name’s history. You will receive 3-4 paragraphs of information covering where the name originated (many are from more than one country), why a surname might have been needed at that time, and some possible variations. Please note: this is NOT your genealogy chart. We try to include the various countries where the name may have originated and that may give you a clue for which direction to search for your family line. We recommend Family Search as a resource for genealogical research. Our surnames do NOT include characteristics associated with the name.

All paper styles are shown below. Some may be limited because they are no longer manufactured.

Each history is between 230-320 words long. They are available on 8 1/2 x 11 acid-free paper (see designs below), and printed with a laser printer. They arrive in a plastic page protector and are mailed in a stiff, cardboard mailing envelope. The pages can be put in a binder or scrapbook or quickly framed in a document frame (these are 8 1/2 x 11, or you can cut the page down to 8 x 10). We do NOT ship them framed. Frames come in so many colors and styles and create many shipping challenges, so we leave that part up to you.
